It’s National Name Your Poison day! A day created to celebrate our favorite poisons by, how else? Indulging in them? But before you reach for the arsenic I do not mean actual poison! The expression ‘Name your poison’ traditionally refers to what kind of alcoholic beverage you prefer, however it can also refer to any of your personal preferences. Your favorite flavor of ice cream or kind of dessert for example. It’s something you reach for when you feel like being extra notty or splurging. Maybe it’s that trashy T.V show you can’t quite kick, or a tendency to reward yourself with shoe shopping after a particularly good day. Or maybe it really is that bottle of Chardonnay stashed at the back of your fridge. We all have our favorite brands of poison, these are a few of mine.

Pina Coladas

Pina Coladas.jpgA cliche I know, but yes ‘I like Pina Coladas!’ Especially in the summer time, lounging by the pool, they are so sweet and refreshing!

Boba Tea

BobaOn a non alcoholic related note.. I am obsessed with Boba/Bubble tea! For those who don’t know this is kind of like the Asian version of an Italian soda/smoothie with black tapioca balls. I know, I know, it sounds very odd but trust me it is super good and highly addicting! My favorite flavors are Honeydew, Taro, Coconut and Pina Colada.

I occasionally watch both versions back to back. Usually when no one else is home obviously. I don’t know I like different parts of both movies, so if I watch one I’m always compelled to watch the other. It’s the same way with the Netflix series The Borgias, I can never decide which version is better.

Last but not least..Shopping

This has to be one of my greatest pleasures, that sadly also happens to be on my wallets top list of vices. I have a few favorite consignment stores and estate sales I love to peruse on occasion, but of course I always find something something “Amazing!”, so I normally have to avoid going anywhere near them. But seeing as it’s National Pick Your Poison Day….. *grabs purse and keys, cue the sound of a car pulling out of the driveway and the garage door closing.*
