New Cut, New Style, New Life

Coco Chanel once said, “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” That is my hope, but a simple haircut alone won’t do that. It is the attitude a woman has, her willingness and desire to change her life that makes all the difference. Any woman can go out and buy herself a new wardrobe, but whether or not she actually wears it, and assumes her new image, her new self, with confidence is a whole other matter.

It is a fresh start, a new identity, for the road is open to the nameless and unknown. Behind the wheel of my new life I get to decide where that road will take me; which turns to take, where to slow down, where to speed up, what sights to see, and who I’ll pick up along the way. Will I blindly obey the droning voice stemming from my satellite GPS or choose to follow my own internal compass?

Sliding into my, (sadly) hypothetical, sleek red 1965 Austin-Healey Sprite MkIII convertible, I check my red lipstick in the review mirror before starting the engine. I guess I’ll find out.
